Last week I wrote about my colleague Gwynne’s great reporting on Tim Pearson, a top aide to Mayor Adams who got into a physical altercation at a Midtown migrant shelter.
In the week since there’s been a lot more reporting from my colleagues both at THE CITY and elsewhere. You won’t be surprised that the mayor only talked about it once, during Off Topic Tuesday, despite efforts for him to comment at other events.
Pearson was reportedly being investigated for abusing his stepson, which led to the internal affairs probe.
You can read all of those stories (and more!) at THE CITY.
PROGRAMMING NOTE
I’ll be DJing the FINAL Queens Night Market of the year tomorrow from 5 - 12, and also emceeing the costume contest for kids and adults. I bought a lot of candy, and it’s supposed to be beautiful. It’s behind the Hall of Science, and don’t drive if you can avoid it (the parking lot is annoying, and street parking is scarce.) Please be mindful, though, that the 7 train is under construction so it’s skipping west-bound at 11th Street when you leave. I’d suggest walking up or down Roosevelt to a working station (again, it’s going to be beautiful) once you leave.
🌊SANDYVERSARY🌊
If you missed my 10 year remembrance last year, you can read it all again.
And if you missed it at the time, reporter Andrew Siff and photographer Michael DelGiudice are up tomorrow night for a New York Emmy award for their Sandy piece featuring my parents (and dog Hemingway.)
You can watch that here! And I hope they win!
🎧LISTEN🎧
Before I DJ the night market I always listen to top hit playlists so I can feel hip and cool and please the young people. These are some of my favorites that I will be playing.
“Little Things x Gypsy Woman” by Jorja Smith
“Just a Little Bit” by DJ Boat, Dr. Chaii
“(It Goes Like) Nanana” by Peggy Gou
And here are some film photos I just got developed from my trip to Spain. Have a great and safe weekend!
