There was a hole in the Queens-Midtown Tunnel

And oh yea a lot of federal law enforcement activity with Mayor Eric Adams's team #94

On Wednesday afternoon, drilling contractors working on the East River esplanade project accidentally drilled a hole into the Queens-Midtown Tunnel, resulting in a “water intrusion” or as normal people call it, a leak.

I thought this might be the biggest story of the week.

What we didn’t know Wednesday was federal investigators were doing a little drilling of their own. They raided the Harlem home where first deputy mayor Sheena Wright lives with schools chancellor David Banks, and also the St. Albans home owned by deputy mayor for public safety Phil Banks (they are brothers.)

We all found this out on Thursday, when THE CITY broke the news of the Banks brothers raids. Subsequent reports revealed this was just the tip of the iceberg.

Police Commissioner Edward Caban and senior advisor to the mayor Tim Pearson’s phones were seized, too.

And the Times reported that the FBI raided the home of a third Banks brother, Terence. Speaking of brothers, on Friday the Daily News reported James Caban, brother of Edward, also had his home searched.

It’s all the latest in so many investigations, which started last November with the FBI raiding the home of Brianna Suggs, a top fundraiser to Mayor Adams on his 2021 campaign.
